Sorbitol is a naturally occurring ingredient found in many edible fruits and berries, such as mountain ash, cherries, plums, pears, apples, and even in seaweed. Sorbitol is one of the sugar alcohols that MFD specialise in, our product is USP/BP grade. Sorbitol is listed by the US Food and Drug Administration as an ingredient that is Generally Recognized As Safe.

Sorbitol works by reducing water and thereby extending the products shelf life. An example of this is muffins purchased in plastic bags in convienence stores. Sorbitol is also able to withstand high temperatures and has a slight emulsifing effect. This is very useful if  your manufacturing filled chocolates.

Sorbitol is a great product for when very fine particles are required. Sorbitol varies between 50-70% the sweetness of sucrose.
